Huskee 22 ton log splitter engine
I have a Huskee 22 Ton Log Splitter with a vertical shaft B&S engine that needs to be replaced. I'm having trouble sourcing a new one. I've called around and everyone tells me that I need to have an engine with a heavy flywheel for this type of application. It has the correct shaft diameter and length, however it lacks a heavy flywheel. Bought a 22-ton Huskee log splitter and ran it for 2-years w/o a problem. Changed oil as required. At the end of the second year of usage, the Briggs & Stratton 675 Series 190 cc engine locked up. Was eventually able to pull the starter cord, engine started, and apparently it was blown, throwing oil and blowing smoke all over. NEVER operate the log splitter on slippery, wet, muddy or icy ground. ONLY operate your log splitter on level ground. Operating on a slope could cause the log splitter to roll over or logs to fall off. NEVER operate your log splitter in an enclosed area. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide which can be deadly when inhaled.
