This is a Islay single malt bottled for Costco's Kirkland brand by Alexander Murray. The label only tells us that it's matured in oak casks and 100 proof. It doesn't have an age, mention chill filtration, or color. My assumption going in is this is a young Caol Ila based on which Islay distilleries usually provide a lot of casks for IBs.I’d be highly interested in a cask-strength or single-cask bottling from Aberfeldy – I’d like to see if that lovely flowers-and-fruit aroma can translate to the palate at higher concentrations.
