After I'm done building all the parts for the ls1 swap I'm confidant a person with limited knowledge and tools can complete this swap in a weeks time. Boost is great but so is 450hp N/A This swap isnt for everyone just like buying a $5000 supra 6 speed transmission and $1200 supra rear end isnt for me.The rear ends are 3.73 for an is250 vs 4.10 for is350. So, putting a 2gr into is250 would give a car with more hp but with better gears for road cruising. Wiring harness does appear to be compatible. As to why not just by a IS350. I think the 1UZ is a great choice too but it's only a bit easier than the LS swap. The LS has more power potential. It's smaller than the 1UZ too. The 1UZ just barely fits the IS300's engine bay. R154 and the V160 transmission can mount up with the 1UZ with a kit, makes things much more simple although you'll still have to worry about the wiring.
