As the other comment mentions ECE 408 (aka CS 483) is a pretty good class. However, I think 420 has more of a cpu-parallelism (using OpenMP etc) focus as opposed to 408 doing gpu/CUDA. CS 484 is the better equivalent if cpu stuff is what you’re after. You can check the history but I think it’s offered most spring semesters. CS 100. Discovering Computer Science. 3 hours. Hi, I am a senior in CS planning the schedule for my last semester at UIUC. I am wondering about the difference between 483 and 484, as they both cover parallel programming. Which one is better?I have enjoyed the algorithm part of CS 374, and I wonder if the CS 473 content on "random algorithms" and "approximation algorithms" and "linear programming" will provide some insight for ML-related algorithms in general? Thanks in advance! Additionally, is taking CS 446 and CS 473 together with two other easy classes a terrible idea?CS + X (all majors) → Computer Science.
