Magic is perfectly viable, and the Vancian casters, ie. the Wizard, Priest, & Druid are really the strongest classes at endgame. They start a little weak, but the game makes sure to give them per-encounter abilities that ensure they aren't useless if they've used up all their spells for the day.In your party lineup, put Eder in the front with someone else tanky (as you get more people).
